LUNG CANCER MORTALITY REDUCTION ACT
You can also help in the fight against lung cancer by signing on to ask Congress to support the Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act. The Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act is authorizing legislation calling for coordination with three government departments, HHS, DOD and VA, to put together a comprehensive research plan addressing all aspects of lung cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. It also calls for a pilot screening program to follow up on NCI trial results; similar to pilot programs for mammography and colonoscopy. The goal is to reduce lung cancer mortality by at least 50% by the year 2020. You can find more information at by clicking on the picture above.
